A recent hacking of Montvale Recreation Director Jim Freemans yahoo.com e-mail account led several residents to believe he was in a troublesome situation broke and stranded abroad.

Recreation Department hosts cheer camp

It was hot in the gym at the Butts County Parks & Recreation Department Community Center, but the heat did not wilt the enthusiasm of the 12 young ladies who came to Spirit Camp to practice their cheerleading skills last week, nor that of their instructor, Diamond Floyd. The camp was held from 9 to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.

TOPSHAM The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a girls basketball clinic at Mt. Ararat High School, directed by Eagles varsity coach Kelly LaFountain. Session one is for girls entering grades 3-5, while session two concentrates on middle school students in grades 6-8. The participants are being taught the fundamentals of basketball.
